A Special Christmas

A Special Christmas.......

This will be the first year in 3 years that I wont be alone Christmas morning.  I am so blessed to have an amazing man in my life that I get to share the holidays with.  He comes from a family that I adore and I'm so excited to be with them for Christmas.  I love the holidays.  Everything about it.....from decorating the tree.....lots of Christmas treats.......seeing people you love and watching people open the gifts I got them!

Needless to say, I have been wrapping.......baking and sending out cards the last couple weeks.  Jamie and I got a HUGE Christmas tree and it was nice to be able to share decorating together.  Jamie just moved and has one chair in the living room.  The tree and gifts take up half the living room.

When I was young the stockings were one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning.  So, I looked all over for the perfect stockings for Jamie and I.  I found nice ones at Pottery Barn that we both liked.  This morning when I woke up.........a little birdie had hung them. :)  It made my morning!!

I'm joining a family that are all amazing cooks and bakers!  I never saw myself as the dishwasher in a relationship but I am coming to terms with it. ;)  I try to hold my own as I really like to cook but I think in the new year I need to expand my 10 dishes to 20 great ones!

Last night, I started my Christmas baking.  It's been SO long since I have baked.  This year I am making peanut butter balls and shortbread.  I finished the peanut butter balls last night which turned out great!!  Working on the shortbread this evening.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Christmas Party time!

Christmas Party time!

I LOVE shopping for Christmas party dresses!  Something about getting all dressed up, makes me happy.  I spend a lot of time in work clothes and cozy's on the weekend.  I don't got out much on the town anymore.  So getting dolled up is fun!

I found a great royal dress at BCBG which I think could be my fav new color to wear.  I got lots of compliments on the dress.  While reading my "People Magazine" on the plan I saw this great white and silver dress from American outfitters for 69.00.  So, I went and found it while we were in Hawaii.  I wore this dress with black tights........It made me feel very festive.

This cut of dress is perfect for my curves.  Tight in all the right places and for giving in all the right places!! :)

Hawaiian shopping

Hawaiian Shopping

My man and I had an amazing time in Hawaii.  We stayed in a beautiful hotel with a private beach and a view that never gets old.  We spent all day on the beach or at the pool and the evenings shopping.  This trip made me realize my man and I have a passion for the same thing......shopping.  Most men hate shopping but Jamie really enjoys it.  He is a clothes junkie like me!!!  I am normally one of those people who like's to shop on my own but I really liked having him with me.  It's a nice feeling walking out of a fitting room and having someone you adore tell you that you "look great in that outfit".  SOLD :)

I bought a new bikini before I left and was so happy I got it.  It fit so well and I ended up wearing it lots.

The shopping was amazing in Hawaii.  They have one of the largest open air malls in the world which we went to a couple times.  Also, they had a great outlet mall which Jamie enjoyed!!  I picked up a couple great dresses while I was away.  A couple at BCBG which will be great for next summer and a fun Christmas party dress.

Here are some pictures of our trip......

Petite Feet Sample Sale

Petite Feet Sample Sale

I have been shopping like crazy lately!  I promised myself no more shopping until Hawaii at the end of the month!

Today I went to the Petite Feet sample sale.  It was at the PNE Forum and today was their VIP day.  There was no line when we got there which was great!  I didn't think it was that busy considering it was the first morning.  They told me they add new shoes everyday of the 4 day sale.

My big find was a pair of tan riding boots that fit my calfs.  I have been looking forever for a pair like this.  They are a bit tight in the calf but I will pay to have them stretched.  Worth the money when they are great boots!

The boots are Franco Sarto and I also got a pair of Kensie girl leopard flats.  The boots were 125 and the flats were 60.  I had a 10 dollar off the first purchase.  So, not bad for two pairs of shoes.

Worth going to this sale!

Brand new lashes

Brand new lashes

I went for my first visit to the Noir Lash Lounge.  My treatment was booked at the South Granville location.   The girls greeted me as I came in and I filled out the normal paper work.  It's a beautiful salon and had great relaxing music.

Then I got taken over to a sofa, where the girl proceeded to ask me what sort of look I wanted.  I went for a half set, curled and very natural looking.  A full set is $65 and half set is $35.  My plan was to get a full set but after hearing it would take an hour and fifteen minutes, I opted for the half set at forty five minutes.  The application includes, you sitting there with your eyes taped shut for the entire time. Well being that I can't even sit through a Yoga class, chances are I would never make it through the full set.  The girl was very nice and talked to me the whole time which made the time go faster.  It did not hurt but felt a bit itchy.  They last up to four weeks if you take good care of them. Their suggestion is to not pull them off but to come in and have them take them off.  It's a free service and better on your own lashes. You don't have to wear mascara while you have them which is nice and my boyfriend Jamie claims they don't look fake.  "Really natural looking" was how he put it. :)

Below are picture of my new lashes.

Overall my first lash extension experience was great!! I would recommend them to my friends for a special occasion or a holiday.  But they are expensive to up keep if you had them all the time.

I will have them again for sure in the future!

The famous black pants drama

So, I can't tell you how many times I have walked in and out of stores trying to find the perfect black dress pants.  It can be painful trying to find ones that fit your hips that actually fit you in the waist as well.

I really have not shopped at the gap in years but I must say over the last couple months, they have some great new items.  One of my fav new items are "The Premium Black Pant Collection".  It's 7 different fits for all different body types and styles.  Not only do they fit great but they are affordable at $59.50!!

I'm loving the "Curvy pants" with a heel and "Perfect Trouser" for a flat.

I'm a women with curves and this is my story......

A little about me......

My name is Claire, I live in Vancouver and have a successful careers in dental sales.  I have an amazing man in my life that makes me smile every day and have lots of great people in my life that love me.
Life is good!

I'm a women with curves and this is my story........

I have struggled with my weight my whole life.  I have tried every diet on the market and at the end of the day I know its all about healthy living through food and exercise.  At the age of 27, my weight seemed to stabilize and I really started to embrace my curves.  That is when I started plus modelling and started to view my body in a different way.  I never thought I would be modelling later in life or would I ever imagine doing photo shoots in everything from lingerie to swim suites.

One of my best friend's Aimee got me the first lingerie shoot I ever did with Hips & Curves.  I felt like I was a deer in head lights in front of the camera, half naked for the first time.  But it was so much fun and I am thankful for such a great first experience with the H&C team!!

Deer in the head lights
Aimee caught me trying to pull up my pantie hose
I have an agent in Vancouver now and just model for fun. I call it "great shoe money"!!

My love for clothes and shopping with curves has always been a challenge.  I believe every women should learn how to dress for their body type.  I feel like I have become pretty good at picking out clothes that make me feel great.  So I thought I would share my tips and finds though a blog.  Like I mentioned before, I might add this and that as I go.

Dressing with Curves

Over the last week, I have turned into a blog junkie!  I have been reading women's blogs about fashion, there lives and what ever crossed their mind that day.  So I was inspired to start my own blog.

When I started to think about what I wanted to blog, lots of things came to mind.  But I figured I would start on a topic I know well....it might incorporate this and that over time....... but I thought I would start with "Dressing with Curves" and see where it goes from there!
